making space for advent

It’s that time again! Hard to believe that Advent begins in less than two weeks on Sunday, November 30. Over the past few years Advent has become a significant and meaningful season on my annual rhythm of life. Last year I had extra time and space to read, contemplate, and share on Advent on this blog.

This year I am looking forward to beginning Advent with the community here in Buenos Aires. On the first Sunday of Advent our community of North Americans and Argentine partners will gather together to worship, meditate on scripture, and pray. We will not only light the first candle of HOPE in the Advent wreath, but we will also light other candles as we remember and pray for our friends who live and work on the streets.

Our time will include this Advent meditation prayer and video by Christine Sine shared on her GodSpace blog. We are hoping to translate it in Spanish.

I will then spend the remaining weeks of Advent and the Christmas season in California with family and friends. I am hoping to make adequate space for Advent during those busy weeks!

I thought I would post some Advent links that I have found helpful in recent years. If you know of any additional resources, please share them in “comments” here!
